Preparatory conditions have to be fulfilled :

• the person executing the speech act has to have the authority to do so;
• certain procedures have to be followed, e.g. when baptising a person the procedure must be executes correctly and completely;
• sincerity conditions have to be met;
• the speaker is committed to actually supporting the ideas his speech act conveys;
• the participants must conduct themselves accordingly.
